刺魚總科（學名：Gasterosteoidea）又名棘背魚總科，是鱸形目鮋亞目的一個總科，在Deepfin分類系統設為刺魚下目（學名：Gasterosteales）又名棘背魚下目，放在杜父魚亞目，包含了一群傳統上歸類於刺魚目刺魚亞目的魚類。

分類

本下目過去是刺魚目刺魚亞目的一部份，但已知舊有的刺魚目、刺魚亞目是個包含了不同演化支的多系群分類，只有其模式屬所在的三個科能組成的單系群，而這個單系群會更接近杜父魚類，所以Betancur-R等人於2013年將本類群歸類於杜父魚亞目之下，成為其下目^[1]^[2]。後續的分類又將原鮋形目層級設為等義的鮋亞目，所以刺魚下目也可以調整為刺魚總科。
