小行星69230是一颗亚公里大小的小行星双星系统，轨道偏心[16]，被归类为潜在威胁天体和阿波罗型小行星近地天体，于1937年10月30日以大约两倍于地月距离掠过地球附近。这颗小行星以希腊神话中的赫尔墨斯命名[2]。

小行星69230是最后一颗被命名的失踪小行星，于2003年被重新发现。这颗S型小行星的自转周期为13.9小时[7]。小行星69230的伴星于2003年被发现，主星和伴星相距1.1公里（0.68英里），大小相似；直径分别约为600±120米（2,000±390 英尺）和540±120米（1,800±390 英尺），总有效直径为810米（2,700英尺）[5]。
