小行星69230是一顆亞公里大小的小行星雙星系統，軌道偏心[16]，被歸類為潛在威脅天體和阿波羅型小行星近地天體，於1937年10月30日以大約兩倍於地月距離掠過地球附近。這顆小行星以希臘神話中的赫爾墨斯命名[2]。

小行星69230是最後一顆被命名的失蹤小行星，於2003年被重新發現。這顆S型小行星的自轉週期為13.9小時[7]。小行星69230的伴星於2003年被發現，主星和伴星相距1.1公里（0.68英里），大小相似；直徑分別約為600±120公尺（2,000±390 英尺）和540±120公尺（1,800±390 英尺），總有效直徑為810公尺（2,700英尺）[5]。
