NGC 6539是位于巨蛇座的一个球状星团，由丹麦天文学家狄奥多·布罗森（Theodor Brorsen）于1856年发现[6][7]。
NGC 6539星团用小型业余望远镜就能看到，视星等为9.6等，大小为6.9角分[4]。NGC 6539距离太阳2,663光年（8.165千秒差距）[3]，距离银河系中心10,000光年（3.1千秒差距）[2]。
NGC 6539星团位于银河系核球的外部。星团的前部有一个巨大的暗云复合体，导致其因消光而变红[8]。NGC 6539的核心半径为0.54 ′，半质量半径为1.67 ′，潮汐半径为21.5 ′。与其他球状星团相比，天文学家认为NGC 6539富含金属，表明其质量大于氦的元素丰度相对较高。在距离核心 7 ′的范围内已侦测到13颗变星，其中12颗是长周期变星[9]。1990年，天文学家发现毫秒脉冲星位于NGC 6539星团[10]。
