YouTube Music是由Google的子公司YouTube開發的音樂流媒體服務；該平台界面設計支持用戶同步探索基於 YouTube 的音樂流派、歌單及推薦內容，無縫切換音頻與音樂視頻體驗。2020 年 12 月 1 日，YouTube 音樂正式取代Google Play 音樂，成為谷歌旗下音樂流媒體的核心品牌。2023 年 4 月，在Google 播客關閉前夕，YouTube 音樂宣布拓展服務範圍，新增播客內容支持[1]。

Youtube Music該服務還提供高級訂閱服務，向付費訂閱者提供多項權益，包括無廣告播放、後台音頻播放和歌曲離線下載選項。這些權益還與 YouTube Premium 訂閱捆綁，並向其用戶開放。

YouTube 音樂應用於 2015 年 10 月公布，次月正式上線；其發布與 YouTube Premium（原稱 YouTube Red）的推出同步 —— 後者是覆蓋整個 YouTube 平台（含音樂應用）的綜合性訂閱服務。儘管該應用與谷歌現有服務Google Play 音樂全接入存在功能重疊，但其設計初衷是面向主要通過 YouTube 消費音樂的用戶[2][3]。

2018 年 5 月 17 日，YouTube 宣布推出YouTube 音樂服務新版本，包括：網頁版桌面播放器、重新設計的移動應用、基於多維度的動態推薦，以及運用谷歌人工智慧技術實現歌詞或描述搜歌。此外，YouTube 音樂成為獨立訂閱服務（定位為更直接對標 Apple Music 和 Spotify 的競品），針對 YouTube 音樂內容提供無廣告、後台播放或純音頻模式、離線下載權益。該服務權益繼續作為 YouTube Premium 現有服務的一部分，並向 Google Play 音樂全接入訂閱用戶開放[4]。

2019 年 4 月 18 日，YouTube 音樂開始支持Google Assistant 智能音箱（含 Google Nest 系列）

2019 年 9 月 28 日，Google宣佈YouTube Music將預先安裝在所有Android 10新機上[5]。

2019 年 11 月 6 日，Google宣佈YouTube Music於台灣及香港上線。

2024 年 7 月，YouTube 音樂隨特斯拉 2024.26 版軟體更新正式上車[6]。

功能

YouTube 音樂內容覆蓋主流藝人的大量作品，並延伸至平台上所有標註為音樂類的視頻。

2019 年 9 月，YouTube 音樂在新安卓設備預裝的核心 Google 移動服務套件中取代 Google Play 音樂[7][8]。2020 年 5 月更新支持導入 Google Play 音樂內容（含購買的音樂、歌單、雲曲庫及推薦）[9]。但該服務仍存在功能退步：無在線音樂商店（無法購買歌曲），且需訂閱 YouTube Music Premium 才能將雲曲庫內容投射至 Google Nest 智能音箱。

2020 年 5 月，YouTube 音樂新增「預保存」功能 ，支持用戶提前收藏即將發布的音樂作品[10]。

2023 年 2 月，YouTube 音樂推出Radio Builder—— 一項免費且支持跨設備訪問的網絡服務，覆蓋付費訂閱用戶及持有 iOS/Android 設備的免費用戶[11][12][13]。該功能允許用戶創建自定義電台：最多勾選 30 位藝術家，並可選擇僅播放選中歌手的作品或混入同類音樂人的歌曲。

2023 年 4 月，YouTube 音樂上線播客功能，初期僅面向美國用戶開放，計劃後續向全球推廣[1]。2024 年 6 月，Google Podcasts全球停運，由 YouTube 音樂全面承接[14][15]。

YouTube Music 訂閱體系

非付費用戶在適用情況下會播放歌曲的音樂視頻版本。Youtube Premium用戶默認播放專輯正式音軌，除非用戶主動搜索音樂視頻版本。YouTube Music Premium會員及 YouTube Premium會員可切換至僅音頻模式，支持應用後台運行時的持續播放；免費版因需展示視頻廣告，不提供含後台播放的純音頻模式[3]。

免費版音頻質量支持最高128 kbit/s的 AAC 和 OPUS 格式，而256 kbit/s AAC僅向高級版用戶開放。2024 年 7 月，YouTube 為高級版用戶新增256 kbit/s OPUS高品質選項[16]。

YouTube 音樂高級會員及 YouTube 高級會員提供個人版與家庭版兩種套餐。家庭版支持同一家庭內最多 6 名成員共享權益。符合條件的學生可享個人版專屬折扣。

截至 2024 年 3 月，YouTube 音樂服務在美洲、歐洲和大洋洲的大部分地區，以及非洲和亞洲的部分地區均可使用，總共覆蓋 119 個市場。[18]在俄羅斯入侵烏克蘭之後，谷歌無限期暫停了其在俄羅斯的所有基於支付和訂閱的服務，其中包括 YouTube 音樂服務。[19][20]
