南極座ν，又名CP-77 1510，HD 205478、SAO 257948、HR 8254，是南極座的一對分光雙星，主星為一顆K0 III型恆星[1][2]，視星等為3.73等，與伴星的公轉周期為2.9年[5]。
雙星系統的主星的光譜型是K1 III，這表明南極座ν A是一顆已經燃燒完氫的巨星。南極座ν A的質量是太陽的1.6倍，但是其半徑是太陽的5.8倍[3]，光球層的有效溫度為4860K[5]，光度為太陽光度的18倍[4]。南極座ν A可能是一顆系外行星的宿主，該系外行星是一個逆行的巨行星[6]。
雙星系統的伴星的質量比較低，由此判斷其很有可能是一顆紅矮星或者白矮星[6]。根據估計，伴星的質量大約為0.6倍太陽質量。伴星和主星繞著共同質心相互公轉，軌道周期為2年11月，離心率為0.24，軌道半長軸為2.63天文單位[3]。
