艾隆

艾隆(古布立吞語:Aeron)是一個布立吞人王國,屬於亨奧格萊茲(意為「古北方」),據信位於現今蘇格蘭西南部的艾爾河流域[1]。它存在於後羅馬不列顛時代,甚至可能更早,並在7世紀該地區被崛起的諾森布里亞王國征服之前或期間消亡。
《塔列辛之書》中在讚頌雷傑德的烏里恩的詩中偶有提及艾隆。它也是《阿奈林之書》中數位英雄的故鄉。這些英雄的一些家族亦出現在與更著名的阿爾特·克魯特國王的家族譜系相關的王族譜系中。上述現象,加之「艾隆」(Aeron)與「艾爾」(Ayr)在語音上的相似性,共同暗示了艾隆的地理位置。[1][2]。
目前並無任何史料能夠確證艾隆的歷史,甚至其是否確實存在,僅有文學上的引用、相關譜系的一致性、以及偶然相關的歷史記載。雖然艾隆可能位於今日蘇格蘭境內,但作為亨奧格萊茲的一部分,它也是威爾斯歷史不可分割的一部分,因為威爾斯人與「北方之人」自視為同一個民族,在現代威爾斯語中合稱「同胞」(Cymry)[3]。
