地名辭典
地名辭典或地名錄（英語：gazetteer）是與地圖或地圖集配合使用的地理辭典[1][2][3]或目錄[4][5]。其通常包含有關國家、地區或大陸的地理結構、社會統計和自然特徵之信息，還可能包含某地位置、山峰與水道的尺寸、人口、GDP和識字率等信息。這些信息通常按主題分類，並以字母順序列出條目。
據悉，自希臘化時代起就已有古希臘地名錄。雕版印刷普及後，中國士紳開始致力於為當地編纂地名錄。地理學家拜占庭的斯特凡諾斯在六世紀編纂了一本地理詞典（目前部分已佚），影響了後來的歐洲編纂者。
