公立和贈地大學協會（APLU）是一個由公立研究型大學、贈地院校、州立大學系統和高等教育機構組成的研究、政策和倡導組織。其成員校區遍布美國、加拿大和墨西哥。
歷史
[編輯]該組織前身是美國農業學院和實驗站協會（American Association of Agricultural Colleges and Experiment Stations ），成立於1887年10月，是北美歷史最悠久的高等教育協會。[1]同年，第一屆年會於華盛頓特區美國農業部舉行，賓夕法尼亞州立大學校長喬治·W·阿瑟頓當選為董事會主席。[2]
多年來，該組織經歷了多次名稱變更。1919年，贈地學院工程協會與該協會合併。1926年，該組織更名為贈地學院與和大學協會（Association of Land-Grant Colleges and Universities）。[3]1963年，與全美州立大學協會合併，成立了全美州立大學和贈地學院協會（National Association of State Universities and Land-grant Colleges）。2009年3月30日，該協會採用了現在的名稱——公立和贈地大學協會（Association of Public and Land-grant Universities）。[4]
資格
[編輯]該協會擁有超過250名成員，包括所有贈地院校；R1和R2公立研究型大學；州立大學系統；以及附屬組織。此外，還有8所加拿大公立研究型大學和5所墨西哥公立研究型大學。[5][6]
根據1862年、1890年和1994年的《土地贈與法案》，土地贈與機構將自動獲得會員資格。被歸類為「R1：博士型大學 - 非常活躍的研究活動」或「R2：博士型大學 - 活躍的研究活動」的公立大學也有資格成為會員。[7]
