About me

Imelda is a licensed librarian, a professional teacher and a certified human resource associate from the Philippines. As a Wikimedian, she an actively contributes in Central Bikol, Tagalog and English Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata. From 2019-2020, she lead the development and creation of Central Bikol Wiktionary, a Philippine language based Wikimedia project under incubation for 13 years. Not so long after, it was followed by the development of Philippine Wikiquotes, Wikisambit and Wikikawikaan under her leadership in Wiki Advocates Philippines User Group. Imelda is a certified trainer of Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom, the program organizer of #1lib1ref in the Philippines,^[1]^[2]SheSaid Philippines campaigns from 2021 to present^[3], and the community program organizer for Women@Work Philippines, EduWiki Community Philippines, and WikiDunong

A passionate advocate for free knowledge and open education, she empowers youth and women across the country by teaching other local Wikimedians and championing open knowledge initiatives. She continues to develop other Wikimedia Projects in Incubator, conduct edit-a-thons, offers technical support on how to navigate Wikimedia Project and works on how to be able to distribute offline Wikipedia to communities to bridge knowledge gap within the region.
