露丝·圣·丹尼斯
露丝·圣·丹尼斯（英语：Ruth St. Denis，1879年1月20日—1968年7月21日）是现代舞蹈早期的发起人。出生于美国新泽西州的农家，母亲是一位医生，从小就积极培养圣丹尼斯发展舞蹈的兴趣。1892年，露丝·圣·丹尼斯正式成为舞蹈家，作品多以神话故事、丰富表情和手势为主要特色，1906年以“达拉”（印度神祇）一舞成名。成功的将古典舞蹈的技法和传统融入了文化和故事性，她的独舞也带有强列的戏剧和现代舞的特色，影响了许多后世的现代舞蹈家，如玛莎·葛兰姆；查理斯·魏德曼（Charles Weidman）；多丽丝·韩福瑞（Doris Humphrey）等。她与其丈夫泰德·萧恩曾被舞蹈界视为美国舞蹈的源头。
