Munson Township is one of the sixteen townships of Geauga County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 6,450 people in the township.[3]
地理
[编辑]Located in the north central part of the county, it borders the following townships and city:
- Chardon Township - 北
- Hambden Township - 北east corner
- Claridon Township - 东
- Burton Township - 东南 corner
- Newbury Township - 南
- Russell Township - 南west corner
- Chester Township - 西
- Kirtland - 北west corner
Part of the city of Chardon, the county seat of Geauga County, is located in northeastern Munson Township.
Munson Township is home to Alpine Valley, one of the few skiing locations in Ohio.
Munson Township is also home to four parks, Munson Township Park, Nero Nature Preserve, Town Hall Park and Scenic River Retreat.[4]
Name and history
[编辑]It is the only Munson Township statewide.[5]
Munson Township was formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve. It is township eight, range eight on the map of the Western Reserve.
